Filtering paper for qualitative analysis made of cellulose (round filters/sheets)

Grade 1: Medium retention and flow rate for routine laboratory applications

Grade 2: Slightly more retentive than Grade 1 a corresponding slower flow rate

Grade 3: Thick paper, excellent loading capacity, highly suitable for Büchner funnels

Grade 4: High flow rate for coarse particles and gelatinous precipitates

Grade 5: The maximum degree of fine particle filtration in the quantitative paper range

Grade 6: Twice as fast as Grade 5 with slightly reduced particle retention

Phase separating paper, Grade 1 PS (round filters)

Phase separation paper 1 PS holds water back while letting solvents flow through. In many applications it can replace the separating funnel.

Water-repellent filter paper

 

Applications:

For the quick separation of aqueous solutions from organic solvents which cannot be mixed with water. Permeable for the organic phase only. Any fine solid particles in the organic phase may also be filtered in the process.

Filtering papers for quantitative analysis, hardened, low ash content

These papers are acid hardened after production for higher chemical resistance and wet strength. Max. ash 0.025%. Their tough, smooth surfaces make them particularly ideal for winning preparations in Büchner filtrations.

 

Quantitative filter paper, Grade 50 (circle filter)

The thinnest of all Whatman filter papers with a slow flow rate and good particle retention. The hardened surface keeps the paper virtually free from loose fibres. In the electronics industry this filter paper is used as a component carrier.

This is a high quality quantitative paper with a 0.006% ash maximum in combination with high wet strength and chemical resistance. Their tough surfaces make them suitable for a wide range of critical filtration procedures.

 

Circle filter, Grade 540

The general purpose ashless filter paper with medium retention and flow rate. Frequently used in the analysis of metals and in critical quantitative analyses. Also suitable for the separation of hydroxides.
