The EBC Comparator 3000 is a 3-field instrument for the visual determination of the EBC colour number of samples by direct comparison in the Comparator 3000 with colour glass standards.
In a three-part field of view, the sample and two consecutive glasses of the colour scale are viewed simultaneously, making it easier to find the optimal matching colour. For quick colour grading with predefined colour limits, the glasses can be arranged to the two adjacent colours, making it easy to see if the sample is within the tolerance range.

The EBC colour standards, covering the range 2-10 in steps of 0.5 EBC and 10-27 in steps of 1 EBC, are arranged in two pairs of discs. The comparator is designed so that the disc pairs can be easily switched.
