A version of model F optimised for the measurement of animal and vegetable fats and oils in accordance with BS 684 paragraph 1.14, ISO 15305 and AOCS method Cc 13e-92.

The racks are fitted with colourless compensating glasses in the sample field.

Model F is a visual colourimeter to optimise the use of Lovibond® glass filters to express colour as Lovibond® Red, Yellow, Blue and Neutral.

It has two side-by-side, suitably illuminated fields of view. Through the viewing tube, the product in the sample field and a white reflective surface in the comparison field can be viewed side by side.

The Lovibond® glasses are inserted into the comparison field with a simple sliding frame system, allowing the user to compare the colour of the light that either shines through or reflects off the sample.

A range of neutral glasses in racks is also supplied; these can be inserted into the sample field to dull the colour of products that are too brilliant to get a good match with the Lovibond® red, yellow or blue glasses. Using the racks, a matching colour can be visually found for the light from the sample and its colour can then be expressed in Lovibond® units.
